02 · Relaunch

Same business. Different impression.

You already have a website. It's just older than your last car. I rebuild it — keeping everything that already worked.

The problem

How you know it's time

How it fits together
  1. Old site
  2. What stays, what goes
  3. New site
  4. Google still finds you

The last step is the one most people forget: redirects from the old addresses. Without them a move loses everything you built up.

The result

What the relaunch gives you

First impression

The presence matches your prices again.

Speed

Several seconds of loading become less than one.

Phone first

Most of your visitors aren't sitting at a desk.

Rankings kept

Old addresses get redirected, Google doesn't lose you.

How it runs
  1. Day 1
    Inventory

I look at what you have: what works, what already ranks, what must not be lost.

  2. Day 3
    Draft

The new homepage, right next to the old one. The difference explains itself.

  3. Day 7
    Rebuild

All content moved over, re-sorted and rewritten where needed.

  4. Day 10
    Switch

Redirects in place, domain moved, old addresses point at the new pages.

Where the difference lands

Most visitors notice nothing about the new design at first — they notice the page is simply there. Load time is the part of a relaunch that works before anyone looks.

Depends on how much of the old site can be salvaged and how many pages there are. Small business sites usually land in the same range as a new website.

Common questions
Will I lose my Google ranking?

Not if it's done properly. Every old address gets a redirect to the matching new page. Usually rankings improve afterwards because the site is faster.

I can't access my old site any more.

Happens a lot. I can take the content over without access. For the domain we'll need access eventually — I'll help with that.

Does my site have to go offline?

No. The new one is built alongside. We only switch when it's finished — the switch takes minutes.
